Goldey-Beacom baseball gets 4 on CACC Academic Honor Roll
Goldey-Beacom's baseball team once again made noise in the academic world with four of its student-athletes being placed on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Academic Honor Roll.
Seniors Cole Collins, of Laurel, and Jake Kinsell, of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania, each made the list a third time, with juniors Trevor Jump, of Wilmington, and Mitch Guerrieri, of Greentown, Pennsylvania, each getting their second such honor.
Collins this year competed in 15 of the squad’s 18 games with 12 starts. He owns a career .968 fielding percentage, is second in program history with 331 putouts and played in 39 games in 2019 with 35 starts.
Kinsell notched 12 strikeouts over 10 2/3 innings for the year and twice recorded four strikeouts, including his victory March 11 against Le Moyne. He has 73 career strikeouts over 72 1/3 frames spanning 34 appearances.
Jump, a second team all-league pick in 2018, this season got a victory at Limestone by allowing just one run over 4 2/3 frames with three strikeouts. He has notched 86 strikeouts and a .260 batting average against for his career.
Guerrieri this season made four starts and now has 23 career, amassing 78 strikeouts in that time. He had 10 strikeouts this season and opponents batted just .244 off him over 22 1/3 innings.
Goldey-Beacom this season recorded the first 3-0 start in program history and played two teams which in 2019 were regionally ranked. This included Millersville, which GBC recorded a 7-1 victory against.
