A shortened season did not prevent Goldey-Beacom's softball team from receiving awards as five of its student-athletes were named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Senior Dianna Gatto, of Jefferson, New Jersey, made the list a maximum third time, with sophomores Braydee Whitman, of Dagsboro; Emily Lozowski, of Marlton, New Jersey; Maddie Godwin, Cinnaminson, New Jersey; and Noelle Gramlich, of Bordentown, New Jersey, each getting their initial nod.

Gatto, primarily serving as the team’s catcher, recorded a .959 fielding percentage in her time with 244 putouts and 78 starts over 100 games.

Whitman has emerged as a strong infielder for the Lightning, this year leading the squad with a .462 batting average and an .846 slugging percentage. She notched a hit in each of her last three contests, including two hits to go with three RBI on Feb. 16 against Southern Connecticut State.

Lozowski has 114 putouts and 45 assists during her brief time in Pike Creek along with 19 hits. This included a game-winning single in 2019 against Holy Family in the last of the ninth inning.

Last season, Godwin got into 33 games with 21 starts and she closed with 20 putouts.

Gramlich found her way onto the field 38 times over two seasons. She has notched 15 putouts and eight assists during her time.

Goldey-Beacom only played eight games during an abbreviated campaign. GBC this year upended Millersville and also played perennial powers like West Chester, Kutztown and Lock Haven.
