Police investigating person found dead near I-95 ramps on Martin Luther King Boulevard
Wilmington police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a person who was found near the Interstate 95 ramps on Martin Luther King Boulevard Thursday morning.
Police said there are "no immediate signs of foul play."
Paramedics and police came to the road before noon after reports of the body. Paramedics and a single police vehicle arrived first, and a sheet could be seen over the body, which was in the left lane of Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Several other police cars arrived shortly thereafter, as did a van from the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences. Wilmington police spokesman said the body was turned over to that department "for further investigation."
A medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Police did not give a gender or approximate age of the dead person.
