Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay recently announced the recipients of two Wilmington University scholarships.

C’Yenna Jaynes, of Wilmington, and Breanna Reardon, of North East, Maryland, were selected to receive the four-year scholarships introduced March 28 by Wilmington University President LaVerne T. Harmon at GSCB’s 2019 Woman of Distinction, where Harmon was the honoree.

Jaynes and Reardon were selected from among dozens of applicants who were required to explain their areas of study in college, their life and career goals and how a scholarship from Wilmington University would make a difference in their lives. The scholarships were open only to teen Girl Scouts graduating from high school this year and planning to attend Wilmington University.

Jaynes is pursuing a degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. Reardon, who is pursuing a degree in elementary education and a certificate in special education, said the scholarship will enable her to dedicate her time to her studies and future career.
