The Hauntings in History ghostly walking tours of old New Castle will be held at 7, 7:30 and 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in October, beginning Oct. 4 at the historic Arsenal Visitors Center, 30 Market St.
Tours begin at the Arsenal Visitor Center and include a visit inside the legendary Amstel House, where participants may glimpse the famous “Lady in Blue,” who reportedly appears in an upstairs window dressed in a blue silk gown.
In addition to visiting the Amstel House, guests will venture out into the dark, cool night to explore other New Castle myths and tales of the supernatural. Mixed in along with the stories will be plenty of New Castle history, including mourning and funerary practices, cases of murder and early examples of capital punishment.
Dates are Oct. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26.
Tours are held rain or shine and last approximately 75 minutes. Tickets are $16.50, and must be purchased in advance at newcastlehistory.org or bit.ly/nchshauntingsinhistory19.
