Goldey-Beacom’s baseball team had six of its student-athletes on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Academic Honor Roll for the week of May 16.

Juniors Cole Collins, of Laurel, and Jake Kinsel, of Carmichaels, Pennsylvania, each made the list a second time with senior Jake Trejo, of Wauseon, Ohio; Trevor Jump, of Wilmington; fellow sophomore Mitch Guerrieri, of Greentown, Pennsylvania; and senior Tre Wilson, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, each getting an initial appearance on the ledger.

Collins was a multi-dimensional athlete in playing 39 games this season with 35 starts. He recorded a .969 fielding percentage, closing second on the team with 159 putouts in addition to getting 29 hits, seven doubles and 15 RBI.

Kinsell appeared in nine contests, recording 15 strikeouts over 12 1/3 innings and making one start.

Trejo ended the campaign 15th in the league with 46 strikeouts, sixth with 65 1/3 innings and 14th with four wins. He is first in team history with seven wins, third with 116 2/3 innings pitched and third with 75 strikeouts.

Jump battled through injury one year after being picked second-team All-CACC to give Goldey-Beacom quality innings. He struck 23 over 24 1/3 innings, making six starts with one complete game.

Guerrieri also had to deal with an injury but tossed 36 innings with 22 strikeouts over his 11 appearances and six starts. He is first in team history with four complete games, fourth with 101 2/3 innings pitched, tied for fourth with 68 strikeouts and fifth with five wins.

Wilson this season made nine appearances, striking out five and allowing just 13 hits.

Goldey-Beacom this season battled through a slew of injuries and a competitive CACC South Division to go into the last weekend of the season contenders to make the conference tournament. GBC twice defeated then No. 21 and eventual CACC-champion Wilmington after playing West Chester and Division I Delaware.
