The Most Rev. W. Francis Malooly, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, will be the celebrant for the 60th annual Memorial Day Field Mass at10 a.m., Monday, May 27 at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
The annual Mass honors the deceased of the Diocese of Wilmington, especially those who served in the military, those who died in the service of the country and first responders who gave their lives in the name of public safety. Newark Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 475 will provide a military tribute before the start of Mass. Saint Elizabeth High School in Wilmington students will serve as readers and musicians for the Mass.
The Mass is open to the public and will be held rain or shine as protection from the elements will be provided. Limited seating will be available, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
