Goldey-Beacom’s women’s tennis team won the last two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference titles and was picked to stay on top based on a vote by the league’s coaches.

Goldey-Beacom defeated Wilmington for its second consecutive CACC title and seventh trip to the NCAA Tournament last season. The squad finished 32nd in the country, was the top seed in the CACC Tournament for the second straight year, won 17 consecutive regular-season league matches dating to 2015, appeared in the conference final in back-to-back years for the first time since going three straight seasons from 2009-11 and recorded its best start in team history at 12-0.

The Lightning received a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in team history and competed in the second round for a third time in the last four years. GBC also entered the match ranked first in the NCAA East Region.

Goldey-Beacom will open the campaign Sept. 5 at Millersville.
