The Delaware Department of Transportation's contractor, Mumford and Miller Concrete Inc., will close Interstate 95 northbound in Newport and shift lanes to Interstate 295 northbound at 8 p.m. July 27 until 9 a.m. July 28 I-95 northbound.

The nighttime lane and ramp closures are necessary for striping for the new traffic pattern on I-95 Northbound.

I-95 northbound motorists will use the right lanes signed for I-295 northbound and stay on the left lane of I-295 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-95 northbound.

A new traffic pattern will begin July 28 and end Aug. 6. The traffic on I-95 northbound will be converted from four lanes to three lanes. The lane conversion is necessary for the removal and replacement of the wall under the bridge.
