Composite sketch of suspect released

New Castle County Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault of a 42-year-old woman as she was running in the area of Skyline Drive.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, around 10 a.m., county police were dispatched to the area of Skyline Drive in Pike Creek for a report of unlawful sexual contact.

The 42-year-old victim was running along Skyline Drive near the old Three Little Bakes Golf Course when a male came out from behind the bushes and touched her buttocks.

The victim was not otherwise physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 13-15 years-old, 5’7” to 5’8” tall, with a thin build with short “box style” hair. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and red sweatpants.

Police were able to draft a composite sketch of a possible suspect.

Police remind the public to be aware of their surroundings while walking or running and also advocate walking or running with friends. If anything seems suspicious, citizens are asked to call police immediately.
