The Movies on Tap team visited Ronald McDonald House of Delaware and Nemours A.I. duPont Hospital for Children to donate proceeds from recent Movies on Tap screenings at Penn Cinema in Wilmington.

In July, Movies on Tap screened the movie “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” while hosting Victory Brewing Co. for beer tastings prior to the movie. Movies on Tap recently presented a check to Ronald McDonald House for $2,580. This donation will help accommodate dozens of families utilizing the Ronald McDonald House facility during their stay.

In August, Movies on Tap screened “The Breakfast Club” while hosting Fordham & Dominion Brewery, and presented a check to Nemours A.I. duPont Hospital for Children for $4,300 at their annual Radiothon.

Attendees enjoy a meet-and-greet with a local brewer each month, sample and learn about their beer and watch a classic film for a charitable cause. The $20 price of admission includes beer samples, movie and unlimited popcorn with proceeds benefiting the brewer’s charity of choice. To date, Movies on Tap has hosted 16 events and has helped raise $35,150 for local nonprofit organizations.

The next Movies on Tap event will be a screening of “Animal House” at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Penn Cinema, 401 S. Madison St., Wilmington, hosted by Flying Dog Brewery of Frederick, Maryland, benefiting the Delaware Humane Society.
