July 1: Fireworks at Fairgrounds Park, Dover Avenue and Filbert Avenue.

Multiple food trucks, vendors and games starting at 5 p.m. The fireworks will start at dusk. Rain date: Sunday July 2, same time.


July 4:

The Hockessin celebration will open at 9 a.m. with neighborhood relay races sponsored by the Hockessin Athletic Club at Swift Park and the Piedmont baseball fields and concludes with fireworks at dusk sponsored by the Hockessin Fire Company, also in Swift Park.

Parade 3 p.m.

Starts at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, and proceeds along Old Lancaster Pike to Valley Road. In addition to marching units, classic cars, antique vehicles and floats are encouraged to participate.

Food truck festival 2:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Find them behind the Hockessin Fire Hall on Old Lancaster Pike. Food vendors include Brunch Box, Woodside Farm Creamery, I Don't Give a Fork, Maiale, Koi on the Go and Cajun Sno.

Face-painting, games and other activities for children from 2:30 to 8 p.m., along with displays by local businesses.

Twin Lakes Brewery will set up a beer garden, serving craft beers and sangria.
