The Wilmington Ballet Academy recently announced the appointment of Patrick McDevitt as its new executive director.
“Patrick is a very successful business leader with a proven track record of success within the Delaware business community and specifically the nonprofit sector, bringing 25 years of business management experience, and most recently serving the previous five years in lead marketing communications roles within the Delaware nonprofit community. His candidacy comes with a great deal of merit, as he brings a tremendously unique perspective from successfully managing numerous and complex business operations and projects with specific expertise in marketing and business development within both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.” said Ann Dougherty, board president.
"I share a great passion for the arts, in education and in culture. It is my strong belief that education in the arts not only enhances an individual, it enriches our entire community." McDevitt said. "It is also my view that when teaching ballet, we are offering something beyond the art of the dance. Through instruction, we are teaching discipline, building character, as well as physical fitness. We also foster the opportunity for our students to work together and support one another to achieve their goals. Further, our dance productions are cultural events that we as an organization, and our students, present to the community with tremendous pride and bring our community together.”
