Delaware Nature Society will host an Earth Day celebration open to the public along with their 52nd annual meeting April 22.

The meeting will be held for members from 10 to 11 a.m. in the auditorium of Ashland Nature Center, 3511 Barley Mill Road, Hockessin. Events in celebration of Earth Day will be held, free to the public, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Members and nonmembers can join on guided hikes, try out stream sampling, see live animals, discover spring raptors at the Hawk Watch and participate in activities that can improve the environment. The first 100 attendees will receive free Clif Bars.

The meeting will include a short program, and two awards will be presented. The Delaware Nature Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Peter Flint, and the Outstanding Environmental Educator Award will be given to Jessica McCarthy.
