Wawa on Pulaski Highway robbed
The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Newark area convenience store that occurred early this morning.
Police say that the incident occurred today, Sunday, Jan. 10, around 1:58 a.m., as two male suspects entered the Wawa convenience store located at 2754 Pulaski Highway, Newark. One suspect, who was armed with an unknown make and model handgun, confronted a 23 year old male employee and demanded money from the store’s cash registers. The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to them. After exiting the store, both suspects fled on foot south bound on Perch Creek Drive. The employee was not injured.
The first suspect was described as a black male. He was approximately 5’10”-6’00” tall, weighed 150-170 lbs., and was last seen wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans with his face covered.
The second suspect was described as a black male. He was approximately 5’10”-6’00” tall, weighed 150-170 lbs., and was last seen wearing a dark jacket, pants and shoes with his face covered armed with an unknown make and model handgun.
There is no further physical or clothing description available. Video surveillance photos are not available at this time.
