The show at Appoquinimink High School, 1080 Bunker Hill Road, Middletown, features a costume contest and over 100 tables of vendors and artists specializing in comics, anime, toys, books and pop culture.

Galactic Con is returning to Middletown with a show Saturday, Feb. 24.

The popular event will be held again at Appoquinimink High School, 1080 Bunker Hill Road.

Galactic Con features over 100 tables of vendors and artists. The vendors specialize in comics, anime, toys, books and pop culture. Multiple artists and creators will be present to display their work, offer sketches and take commissions.

Also included in the event will be special guest Anthony Spay whose work has been featured in “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS. Limited edition prints Spay created exclusively for Galactic Con will be available.

Joe Allard has created the free art badges for this year's show. He has worked with pop culture brands such as Star Wars, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers and more.


The costume contest will return this year, hosted by Kati Coenen, who is popular cosplayer from Delaware who has appeared on AMC's “Comic Book Men.”

Other costumed guests are from the local chapter of the 501st, (Delaware's Dark Side of the Force), Ghost Base (Star Wars Rebellion), the Delaware Ghostbusters with Ecto-1, “The Finest,” a GI Joe cosplay group, and the BB-8 Builders Club with working models of BB-8 & BB-9e.

The Furst State, a Delaware-based furry fan club focused on animals with human qualities, will be making an appearance. The members will wear their fur suits which make for great family fun and excellent photo opportunities.

Galactic Con will continue to raise money for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. A raffle will be held on Saturday, featuring items from artists, vendors and local sponsors.

General admission is $5 per person or $10 per family, allowing entrance from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Special early admission is available for $10 per person. Early admission begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, giving comic book enthusiasts a head start to all the action. Early bird tickets are available in advance only.
