The Appoquinimink High School boys lacrosse team improved to 11-4 this season with a victory at Middletown Thursday night in the final regular season game for both schools. The Cavaliers finished the season 6-9.
The Jaguars jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Hunter Wolhar and Connor Garrison, but the Cavaliers struck back on a goal by Max Myers, closing the gap to 2-1.
The rest of the half belonged to Appo, as the Jags scored seven straight goals to take a 9-1 advantage into the locker room.
In the third quarter, the Jags' Campbell Garrison scored for a 10-1 Appoquinimink lead.
Middletown's Luc Dubois answered to make the score 10-2, but Appo kept the pressure on and opened a 14-3 lead by the end of the quarter.
Robert Jadick scored twice for the Jags in the fourth quarter to extend their lead to 16-3 before Myers netted the final goal of the game for Middletown for the final 16-4 score.
Connor Garrison, Campbell Garrison, Hunter Wolhar and Brendan Massey led the Jags with three goals apiece. Robert Jadick scored two, and Baccino and Barber each scored one. Connor Garrison, Jadick and Massey had one assist apiece.
Appo goalkeeper Mitch Meckley made 11 saves.
For Middletown Max Myers and Luc Dubois each scored twice.
