The Delaware Department of Transportation announced its contractor J. Fletcher Creamer will furnish and install upgraded regulatory, warning and guide signs; and upgrade existing pavement markings at all signalized divided highway intersections statewide.
Intersections along U.S. 202 may have lane and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 23-24, pending weather.
Intersections along Route 9 may have lane and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Oct. 25 and ending Nov. 1, pending weather.
Intersections along state Route 2/Kirkwood Highway may have lane and shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1-3, pending weather.
This project will improve safety by providing uniform signing and pavement markings at signalized divided highway intersections. Previous crashes at these types of intersections have been linked to inconsistencies in signing and pavement markings between similar locations.
This project also will address Delaware Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices compliance by updating wrong-way, do not enter and divided highway signage at these intersections.
