A press conference highlighting the need for secure and accurate elections will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 10 in House Hearing Room 217, Delaware Legislative Hall, 410 Legislative Ave., Dover.

Organized by the ACLU, Common Cause, Delaware Alliance for Community Advancement, the League of Women Voters and the Sierra Club, the conference will focus in part on Delaware’s voting machines, some of which are more than 20 years old. The technology used by these machines is obsolete, unsupported by current software and with no paper trail.

Guests speakers include Common Cause Delaware Program Director and Lobbyist Jennifer A. Hill, League of Women Voters Legislative Liaison Sandra Spence and Delaware Alliance for Community Advancement Executive Director Darleen Battle.
