The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that several state roads in northern New Castle County may be closed or restricted because of flooding and/or downed trees, utility lines, debris, and damage to the roadway from Sunday night's storm.

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that several state roads in northern New Castle County may be closed or restricted because of flooding and/or downed trees, utility lines, debris, and damage to the roadway from Sunday night's storm.

As of 8:45 a.m. Monday:

Pyles Ford Road closed at Talon Lane, 4300 Pyles Ford Road, and Route 82;

Old Kennett Road closed at Ashland Clinton School Road;

Route 9 at Dobbinsville Road – Road closed;

Pigeon Point Road – Road closed;

Avon Underpass – Road closed.

There are multiple roadways that have temporary lane closures for the removal of debris.

DelDOT encourages motorists to drive carefully and be alert for water on the roadways. Motorists are urged to not drive through standing water.
