The Delaware State Police Community Outreach Unit has announced the winners of its "Police Protecting Our Community" art contest.

More than 550 entries were submitted and, with the support of the Delaware State Police Facebook community, first-place winners were selected for each grade level. Each winner will be featured in the Delaware State Trooper's Association Magazine and placed on display at the Delaware State Police Museum.

The winners and finalists will be honored at a special award ceremony, which will be announced at a later date.

The kindergarten winner was “Hero Helping”; first-grade winner was “Officer Ponytails”; second-grade winner was “Safety in the Community”; third-grade winner was “Police are a Part of Our Community”; fourth-grade winner was “Police Are Our Friends”; fifth-grade winner was “Protected by the Blue”; and sixth-grade winner was “Nation Protectors.”
