The Wetland Festival will be held Saturday, May 19 at Grass Dale Center, 108 N. Reedy Point Road, Delaware City. Celebrating Delaware river and marsh traditions, this free, rain-or-shine family festival is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m, sponsored by the Port Penn Historical Society.
The "Voices of Tradition" presenters cover topics from duck blind building, hanging net to catch shad and rockfish, crabbing and eeling to historic wooden boats, trapping, progging and hunting.
More than 40 local artists will show and sell their works.
There will be children’s activities, the “Jungle John” live animal show, music by Crabmeat Thompson, food trucks, snapping turtle soup, beer and wine sales.
The sailing shad skiff "Groeningen Miss" will be displayed.
