  • A Newark man has been charged with the theft of a credit card after he was identified on the New Castle County Facebook page.
    New Castle County Police have charged Antonio Rivera, 32, from the 200 block of North Patrice Drive, Glasgow Court, in Newark, in the case, according to a report police released today, March 28.
    On Tuesday, March 25 at approximately 9:08 a.m., New Castle County Police received a report on the theft from a vehicle in the Glasgow Court Trailer Park. The victim reported credit cards were taken from her vehicle the night before and were used at a nearby convenience store.
    Officer Charles Levy conducted the follow-up investigation and obtained surveillance footage of the alleged suspect. After the photograph was posted on the New Castle County Facebook page, Officer Levy received a number of calls identifying the alleged suspect.
    Through further investigation, Officer Levy ascertained the identity of the suspect and later obtained a search warrant for his residence.
    Rivera was charged with receiving stolen property and unlawful use of a credit card, police said. He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Facility in lieu of posting $2,000 secured bail.
