  • A Wilmington man was critically injured this morning in a crash on I-95.  The crash occurred at 2:18 a.m. as Najee Rogers, 22, drove a 2000 Buick LeSabre north on I-95 at a high rate of speed. Rogers lost control of the vehicle and it drove into the rear of a northbound 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer, lodging under the rear trailer portion of the vehicle.  The driver of the tractor trailer, Richard Lyvers, 29, of Springfield, KY, felt the impact and drove the trailer from the right-center lane of northbound I-95 to the right shoulder.  Rescue personnel responded to the scene and found the Buick still lodged under the tractor trailer. After Rogers was removed from his vehicle he was transported by ambulance to Christiana Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition with a head injury. Lyvers was not injured.  There were lane closures on northbound I-95 for approximately three hours as this crash was investigated and cleared. The crash remains under investigation.
