A Wilmington man was critically injured in a crash this morning on DuPont Road (Route 100), south of Kirkwood Highway, just west of Wilmington.
The crash occurred at 11:32 a.m.
Jesse Streb, 38, was traveling south on DuPont Road on a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at a high speed, according to Delaware State Police.
Streb lost control of the motorcycle and it left the west side of the road, striking a pedestrian signal pole at the northwest corner of the intersection with Howard Street.
Streb was taken to Christiana Hospital by ambulance where he was admitted in critical condition with head and internal injuries, police said.
Traffic in the area was affected for about two hours as police investigated and cleared the crash.
