  • News to know
The nearly $1 trillion farm bill was approved Tuesday by the Senate and sent to President Barack Obama to be signed into law. The bill sets five years of eating and farming policy in the United States, cutting the food stamp program and increasing spending on farmers markets, CNN reports.
    Quote of note
“I remember the time I spoke at a lunchtime Bible study at the Goddard Space Flight Center near Washington. I was thrilled to meet several scientists and engineers who accept the book of Genesis as historical and reject Darwinian evolution. They shared with me that a belief in evolution had nothing to do with their work on the Hubble Space Telescope. Why should our perspective about origins be censored?” — Ken Ham, as written in an opinion piece published on CNN.com, ahead of his debate on the origins of life with TV personality Bill Nye tonight at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, K.Y. The debate will be streamed live at 7 p.m. EDT on the news website.
