Officials hope to have power back on to 80-plus residents by noon

Crews from Delmarva Power continue to work to restore power to 80 residents in the Hockessin area after a tree felled some power lines earlier this morning.

Delmarva media relations member Nick Morici said that roughly 80 residents are affected by the outage, and that they hope to have power restored by noon.

The wires went down between 7 and 8 a.m. Monday morning, effecting the closure of Mill Creek Road between Stoney Batter and Graves roads, Morici said.

"Our goal right now is to continue the work to have power restored to our clients as soon as possible," Morici said.

No accidents or injuries have been reported in association with the downed wires, Morici said.

Morici added that, despite the harsh weather conditions, there has been no significant damage or power outages in recent weeks.
