Hundreds of area residents showed up at the Hockessin Fire Company's memorial hall for some festive fun and holiday cheer.
The annual holiday event featured a singalong with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, numerous performances by the Hockessin Dance Company, and a variety of home baked goodies, hotdogs courtesy of Marybeth Tribbit and enough pizza from Prima's Pizza in Hockessin for everyone to share.
The night was also the culmination of an ongoing holiday toy collection, with nearly three buffet-style tables filled with unwrapped toys and other gifts.
The toys are destined for the hundreds of children currently enrolled in the New Castle County foster child program. The Wilmington-based Kind to Kids organization will distribute the toys to kids in the foster program in the coming days leading up to Christmas.
"Thanks to you, all of these children will have a wonderful toy and lots of books to read this holiday season," said Kind for Kids founder Caroline Jones.
