  • Cell phone store robbed at gunpoint on Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington

  • Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery of the Genesis Cell Phone outlet at 4708 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, that occurred Monday at 5:08 p.m.
    A man wearing a mask entered the store and demanded cash from a 21-year-old female employee. When she did not immediately open the cash register, he displayed a handgun, police said. The employee removed money from the cash register and gave the money to the suspect, who then fled.
    No one was injured during this incident.
    The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5'9" tall, with an average build, wearing dark clothing and a mask. He was armed with a handgun.
    No video surveillance is available for release.
