The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Pike Creek Wawa at 4555 New Linden Hill Road on Sunday evening.
The crime occurred at about 6 p.m., when a man approached a 21-year-old female sitting in her car in the Wawa parking lot. The suspect told the woman he had a gun and began opening her car door. With the door now open, the suspect reached inside and removed a purse that belonged to the victim's 50-year-old mother.
With the purse in hand, the suspect then entered his vehicle that was parked next to the victim and drove out of the parking lot.
A partial Delaware registration was obtained that started with the numbers 25.
The 21-year-old was not injured in this incident, and the 50-year-old female was not in the car during the robbery.
The suspect was described as a black male, 45 to 55 years old, 5'7" to 5'11", 170 to 190 pounds, wearing a light grey winter jacket with a large collar or hood, dark knit cap, and sunglasses. He was armed with an unknown type of handgun.
He was driving silver Toyota or Nissan car with dark tinted windows and a partial Delaware registration beginning with 25.
