St. Mark's displayed a well-honed offense and a disciplined defense in shutting out St. Elizabeth's Friday night at Baynard Stadium in Wilmington. The Spartans' Jeff Richards kicked a 32-yard field goal in the first quarter to start the scoring. St. Mark's would score with 7 seconds left in the quarter to take a 10-0 lead. Another touchdown in the second quarter would give the Spartans a 17-0 lead at the half. St. E's had a nice drive in the second quarter down near the red zone, but the Spartan defense would stop the Vikings on both third and fourth downs to prevent a score. St. Mark's would secure their sixth victory of the season after scoring two more touchdowns in the third quarter for a 31-0 advantage. The Spartans are now 6-3 and have added a tenth game to the schedule for next Thursday. The young Vikings are now 2-7 with one game remaining on the season.
