  • Chaddsford Winery announced a new partnership with the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team this week to bring fans more options while watching games.
"As lifelong Flyers fans, we're delighted to become the preferred wine of the Philadelphia Flyers," Winery General Manager Bob Brock said. "Here at Chaddsford, we're both wine loves and hockey lovers—and, we can't wait to share these easy-drinking wines with other like-minded sports fans."
The partnership means that two of the winery's most successful blends, White and Red, will be available throughout the 2013-14 season bearing the team's distinctive logo. Flyers-branded bottles of White and Red will be served by the glass and by the bottle at the team's home arena, Wells Fargo Center, as well as other sports bars, restaurants and liquor stores throughout the region.
"Chaddsford Winery has an outstanding reputation for creating terrific wines," said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko in a statement also released this week. "We're thrilled that they have chosen to become a team sponsor and to create a special wine for our fans. We look forward to a great partnership with them."
The two wines are American blends created by Chaddsford's master winemakers as high-quality, low-cost everyday wines. Chaddsford White is an off-dry blend of unoaked French-American hybrid grape varietals with the fruity, floral character of a Riesling. The winery recommends serving it chilled with the Well Fargo Center's "Crabfries." The Chaddsford Red is also an off-dry blend of unoaked French-American hybrid grape with more of a jam character. The winery suggests pairing it with one of the 16-ounce Delmonico streaks available at the members-only chophouse, Cadillac Grille. Both wine bottles feature more user-friendly pairing suggestions on the back of the bottles as well as screw-top closures.
Chaddsford Winery was founded in 1982 and is currently available in six states, including Delaware. For more information about the winery or its new Flyers partnership, visit the winery's website, its Facebook page or call (610) 388-6221.
