The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announced today that I-95 southbound at the U.S. Route 202 Interchange will be closed at the ramp to U.S. Route 202 (Exit 8), as well as the ramp from Route 202 northbound to I-95 southbound, from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 through 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4.
The closures are needed curing construction of a drainage system, concrete paving, removal of an existing barrier wall, and the construction of a new barrier wall, said Robert B. King, DelDOT Community Relations Officer.
In addition, on Friday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. until Monday, Nov. 11 at 5 a.m., I-95 southbound will be closed at the northbound ramp to U.S. Route 202 (Exit 8), and the ramp from Route 202 northbound to I-95 southbound. This closure is needed during the excavation and construction of both temporary and permanent roadway in preparation of the next phase of the project.
King said DelDOT is strongly recommending that all non-local traffic use I-495 in lieu of I-95.
