Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library will hold its second annual Truck and Tractor Day on Saturday, Oct. 5 to celebrate the beauty of fall and the history of farming at Winterthur.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the area adjacent to the Brown Horticulture Learning Center (site of former estate greenhouses), at Winterthur, 5105 Kennett Pike.
Displays will feature lots of large equipment sure to delight wheel-oriented family members of all ages. Explore over 30 vehicles in all, including the trucks and tractors that keep Winterthur looking so beautiful.
Junior firefighters can climb on and explore the Winterthur Fire Department vehicles.
Children ages 4 to 12 can safely climb a tree with the help of professional arborist, Jim Savage, Instructor of Arboriculture at Penn State University.
All ages are invited to get creative in the Brown Horticulture Learning Center with farm- and tractor-related crafts.
Barbecue and ice cream will be available for purchase.
The event is included with general admission to the museum and garden, but admission is free for Winterthur members free.
Proceeds support Winterthur's educational programs and benefit the Winterthur Fire Department.
