The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a building fire that happened Thursday night in Elsmere.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a building fire that happened Thursday night in Elsmere.

The Elsmere Fire Company was called to B & O Lane, in the CSX rail yard facility shortly after 9 p.m. for a building fire, according to Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Robert L. Fox.

Upon arrival firefighters saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the building.

State fire marshal deputies were called to the scene and are conducting an investigation to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

There were no injuries reported.

Damage is estimated at approximately $100,000, Fox said.
