Two DUI checkpoints will be held Aug. 16 and 17 in recognition of the National Impaired Driving Crackdown.
The checkpoints will be held in Wilmington on Friday and Dover on Saturday. A total of 40 people have been arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol and/or drugs since the 2013 Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI prevention campaign began July 5th. Statewide, there have been more than 2,000 DUI arrests made in Delaware this year.
In addition to the 40 DUI arrests, officers have also apprehended eight wanted individuals, made seven drug arrests, issued 12 seat belt citations, and issued 120 citations for various other traffic violations.
