Wilmington University senior softball pitcher Katie Warrington has been selected as the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) Woman of the Year as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Warrington is now eligible for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award, which is selected by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics.
Warrington, from Townsend, led the Wildcats to a 34-20 record this past season and was named as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second time in her career.A three-time first team All-CACC selection, she finished the year with a 17-5 record and a conference-best 0.99 earned run average, striking out a league-high and Wilmington single-season record 230 batters in 134.1 innings.
Warrington helped lead the Wildcats to their most impressive season to date, winning a record 34 games, including a record 19 contests in the CACC. The team earned the third seed in the CACC Tournament.
