  • A Wilmington woman and her 16-year-old son were arrested after being linked to three earlier burglaries in Yorklyn.
The burglaries occurred during the evenings of March 14, 16, and 30 at Poured Foundations of Delaware, 2870 Creek Road, Delaware State Police Cpl. John Day said. In each burglary, the building was broken into and metal construction supplies were stolen.
In all, more than $18,000 worth of metal was stolen, Day said.
Detectives were able to determine that Patricia Gustaitis, 42, of Wilmington, had committed the burglaries with her 16-year-old son, he said. After each burglary, the son sold the stolen metal as scrap.
Gustaitis's son was arrested at his home on April 19, transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2 near Newark, and charged with three counts of burglary third degree, three counts of theft over $1,500, three counts of conspiracy second degree, and criminal mischief under $1,000. He was released to a family member on $9,500 unsecured bail.
Gustaitis came to Troop 2 on May 1, where she was charged with three counts of burglary third degree, three counts of theft over $1,500, three counts of conspiracy second degree, and criminal mischief under $1,000. She was released on $21,100 unsecured bail.
