  • Delaware State Police have begun investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred Saturday night at the Prices Corner Shopping Center.
    The incident occurred at 10:08 p.m. Saturday as a 36-year-old Wilmington man walked through the rear of the shopping center, State Police Cpl. John Day said. He was approached by a masked man with a handgun, who demanded money from the victim, he said.
    The victim was uncooperative and refused to turn over any money, and the suspect fled on foot, Day said.
    The suspect was described as a white male, 18 to 25 years old, approximately 5-foot-7 with thin build and wearing dark clothing and a mask, Day said. No further physical or clothing description was available, and there was no video surveillance available for release.
