BP gas station robbed at gunpoint
Delaware State Police troopers are investigating the robbery at gunpoint of the BP gas station at 1713 New Castle Avenue on Thursday night.
The incident occurred at 10:45 p.m. Thursday when a masked white male suspect entered the New Castle County business brandishing a handgun, State Police Cpl. John Day said. He demanded money from the 19-year-old male cashier, who complied by turning over the contents of the cash register.
The suspect then fled from the business on foot, Day said.
The suspect was described as a white male, 17 to 24 years old and approximately 5-foot-8 with an average build, Day said. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a mask.
No further physical or clothing description available, he added. And there was no video surveillance available for release.
