Goldey-Beacom College freshman Brett Moore has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Week award for the week ending Mar. 24, CACC officials announced.
It is the first time Moore has been honored by the CACC in his career.
Playing in just the third tournament of his college career, Moore led the Lightning at the St. James Plantation Invitational last weekend by earning a share of 16th place. He carded a two-round total of 154, including a three-over par score of 75 in the second round. It was his lowest round of the season.
Led by Moore, the Lightning finished in 11th place in the team standings while playing in their first tournament of the Spring season.
Moore hails from West Kelowna, B.C., Canada.
The Lightning were scheduled to compete at the Wilmington University Spring Invitational at the Back Creek Golf Club on Friday, Mar. 29.
