Ursuline Academy is proud of its 3- and 4-year-old pre-kindergarten students who made a special Easter dessert for Emmanuel Dining Room on March 22.
Utilizing Early Childhood's kitchenette, the pre-kindergaraten students counted, measured, and stirred marshmallows, cereal crisps, and butter to make a delicious dessert for the individuals at Emmanuel Dining Room. The Emmanuel Dining Room works to provide nutritious no cost meals to people in Delaware.
Even at a young age, Ursuline students are already aware of their responsibility to help others. The teachers in the Early Childhood Program incorporate activities that allow their students to continue to learn while experiencing the reward of helping others.
"I love to have the children bake during Lent for Emmanuel Dining Room because we learn throughout Lent how to follow in Christ's footsteps, and serve other people just as He did," said Suzanne LeComte, Pre-K Teacher. "Preschoolers know when they are hungry for snack and lunch so they can understand when we explain the mission of Ministry of Caring's Emmanuel Dining Room. It takes self control not to eat those pastel sprinkled treats but the children did a great job!"
