  • New Castle County paramedics responded to the area of Lancaster Pike and Brackenville Road for the report of a car crash with a 15-year-old girl trapped in one of the vehicles Tuesday morning.
    Two vehicles had collided and the female front seat passenger of one of the vehicles was trapped for approximately 20 minutes before being extricated by personnel from the Hockessin Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedic Cpl. Peter T. Small said. New Castle County paramedics treated her for head injuries during transport to Christiana Hospital.
    She was admitted to that facility in serious condition, Small said. Three other occupants of the vehicles involved were also injured and transported to Christiana Hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, he said.
    In addition the county paramedics and Hockessin Fire, the Cranston Heights Fire Co. ambulance, the Mill Creek Fire Co. ambulance and Delaware State Police responded to the scene.
