  • Delaware State Police troopers are looking for a female suspect who removed a purse from a vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart at 1251 Centerville Road in northern New Castle County Sunday afternoon.
    The incident occurred at 4:35 p.m. Sunday when the victim parked her vehicle in the Walmart parking lot, State Police Cpl. John Day said. The victim proceeded into the store to shop, leaving the driver's side window ajar.
    Shortly thereafter the suspect reached in through the driver's side window of the vehicle, Day said. The suspect was able to remove the victim's purse from the center console of the vehicle before fleeing, he said.
    When the victim arrived back at her vehicle she realized someone had removed her purse from the vehicle and immediately notified State Police, Day said.
    Based on a surveillance photograph, the suspect was described as a black female, 5-foot-6 tall, approximately 145 pounds, wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, Day said. No further physical or clothing description was available.
