The Ursuline Academy girls basketball team is headed back to familiar territory this weekend, as the No. 4 seed in the DIAA State Tournament defeated and eliminated No. 5 Appoquinimink High School, 47-39, March 7 at Newark High School.

The third round match-up was evenly played through most of the contest, and actually saw the Jaguars take a six point lead into the half.

The game opened up in the third quarter, however, with Ursuline outscoring its opponents 18-8 to take a lead it would not relinquish.

Sophomore guard Adrianna Hahn led the way for the Raiders with 21 points, while Amber Cale, a junior forward for Appo, had 24 points for her team.

Ursuline moves on to its 10th straight final-four appearance in the tournament at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, where it will face top-seeded St. Elizabeth High School at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
