  • The Delaware Children's Museum, 550 Justison St., Wilmington, will host several healthy events and exhibitions starting March 2 and ending April 29.

  • The Delaware Children's Museum, 550 Justison St., Wilmington, will host several healthy events and exhibitions starting March 2 and ending April 29.
    These activities include:
    10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., March 2- April 29, DCM Gym- Children will get to experiment with the exercise equipment in the DCM Gym.
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 4-8, Open Studio- Experiment with mixing baking soda and vinegar together, paint on the easels, and play on the felt board.
    10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., March 9-10, Jr. Circuit Training- Test strength and endurance as you work around the circuit of several exercise stations.
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 9-10, Open Studio- Sculpt with play dough that you can take home, experiment with mixing baking soda and vinegar together.
    11 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m., March 9-10, Try Science: Be a Biologist- Investigate the world of biology, experiment with microscopes, and take a magnified
    look into the world of bacteria, microorganisms, and cells. Activities include peering through microscopes to explore the world of cells, using glitter to learn about the transfer of germs, and discovering how plants drink by watching flower petals change color.
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 11-15, Open Studio- Explore the feeling of cloud dough made from flour and baby oil, and paint on the easels.
    11 a.m. to noon, March 16, Junior Engineers- Build the boat out of Lego's and K'NEX with help from high school students in The Charter School of Wilmington's "Science Ambassadors" program.
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 16-17, Weekend Open Studio- Sketch out a Shrinky Dink and watch what happens when it's cooked, explore the feeling of cloud dough made from flour and baby oil.
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 18-22, Open Studio- Dig your hands into the Oobleck (made from cornstarch and water), paint on the easels, and plan a story on the felt board.
    5 to 7 p.m., March 20, $2 Night- Visit the museum in the evening hours for just $2 per visitor. Enjoy all the hands-on exhibits together, spend extra time pumping up your heart during the DCM Gym, and join the Delaware College Investment Plan Studio D gallery where you can play with Oobleck.
    5:15 and 6:15 p.m., March 20, Science About the Stories will take place as we read Eric Carle's book, "A Tiny Seed." Following the story, kids can explore seeds in different activity learning-stations. Parents can join the new monthly seminar series from 6 to 7 p.m. This month's topic, "Growing Together: Rainy Day Play," will focus on how to keep kids active indoors and tips for healthy snacks to make as a family.
    10 a.m. to noon, March 23, Healthy Hour- The Junior League of Wilmington joins us for some HEALTHY fun and games at the DCM. Different activity stations include teaching kids how to portion a nutritious meal, making healthy trail mix, and getting active in a scooter race and obstacle course.
    Page 2 of 2 - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 23-24, Weekend Open Studio- Build a structure with Stikits, dig your hands into Oobleck (made from cornstarch and water), and plan a story on the felt board.
    11 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 28, Pee Wee Glee Club: The Obertones- Get a workout for your ears, toes, and lungs. A special performance by The Obertones, an all-male acap ella group from Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH.
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 25-29, Open Studio- Find out the magic behind invisible ink, paint on the easels, and play on the felt board.
    10 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 30-31, Weekend Open Studio- Sketch a picture using scratch art, find out the magic behind invisible ink, and play on the felt board.
    All programs during normal hours are free with admission, unless otherwise specified. Admission is $12 per person; museum members and children 12 months and younger
