The Ninth Drawing Marathon will be held this Saturday, March 2. Open to the community this 12-hour event transforms DCAD's Toni & Stuart B. Young Gallery into a 5,000 square foot figure drawing studio. Artists of all skill levels and abilities are invited to develop artistic vision, sharpen skills, and work alongside DCAD faculty and students. Participate for one hour or all 12 with the event open from 9 AM - 9 PM.
DCAD's event is inspired by the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting & Sculpture which founded the Drawing Marathon 20 years ago with the belief that drawing is the basis of understanding of one's experience of the world. Today, drawing marathons are a worldwide trend, spanning the U.S. and globe.
Participants must bring their own drawing or painting supplies. Refreshments are provided throughout the day. Java Puppy, Delaware's first mobile espresso truck, will be on campus from 8:30 AM to Noon, serving organic fair trade coffee, lattes, espresso, chai, tea, hot chocolate and more, with 10% of the profits to be donated to DCAD.
Please note that seating is limited for this very special event. Advance registration is strongly recommended. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the door, the day of the event. Call 622-8867 x110 or email email@example.com for more information.
