Police investigate fatal crash on I-495

The State Police are investigating a fatal crash Feb. 23 on I-495 northbound, north of DuPont Highway in Wilmington that left a Wilmington man dead.

John T. Davis, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Duane A. Harris, 48, of Perryville, Md., was traveling northbound in the center lane of I-495 just north of US13. They say Haines, who was unable to see Davis due to dark clothing, struck Davis causing him to land in the center lane of I-495. Police say Douglas P. Kenney, 54, of Wyantskill, N.Y., was also traveling northbound in the center lane of I-495 and failed to see Davis lying in the roadway where he was struck once more.

The investigation is still underway.
