The Smyrna High School JV boys basketball team improved to 18-1 Friday with their 60-36 win over Caesar Rodney.

Coach Dontay Black said the score may not reflect it, but it was a close game.

The Eagles started off sluggish, and only had a 22-20 lead over the Riders at the half. A few changes to the lineup at the start of the third quarter brought some energy back to the young Smyrna team especially from Kobe Morris, Rasheed Cobb, and Vincent Jubilee.

When the third quarter ended, the Eagles were up 48-26, only allowing CR to score 6 points in the third quarter. The Eagles went on to win 60-36.

Jubilee led the Eagles with 29 points and 21 rebounds. Morris added 10 points and no turnovers while Cobb contributed 7 points and 6 rebounds.

The Eagles will play their final game of the season at Sussex Tech Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
