On Saturday, Salesianum improved to 12-3 on the season with an impressive win over a tough Sussex Tech squad.
Sophomore guard Donte DiVincenzo and big-man Brian O’Neill both finished in double-figures for Sallies scoring 15 and 14, respectively. Senior guard Nicholas Perugino pitched in 9 points in the victory.
Salesianum and Tech paced each other early on, going basket-for-basket with Sallies taking a 1 point lead into the second stanza.
In the second quarter, Sallies would outscore Sussex tech 13-10 to take a 4 point lead into the break.
The third quarter saw more of the same as both teams continued to pace one another, but Sussex Tech would have their best quarter of the day scoring 15 in the 3rd. Sallies did their best to match, posting a strong 14 point quarter to lead by 3 going into the fourth and final quarter.
Salesianum’s offense was in rhythm for most of the day, and that continued in the fourth quarter as Tech could never pull ahead.
Next up for Sallies is a date with the Smyrna Eagles (5-8) on Thursday.
